- .TIP: from mackinac64 "While Ireland is beautiful at any time of the year, (one doesn't go because the weather is glorious, though often it is) mid-December through the beginning of January is not the best time to visit. Many things are closed during that period, due to the holiday, plus it is difficult to find vacancies at bed/breakfast and hotels. Family returns home to Ireland at this time and occupy spaces which at other times would be open for tourists. That is the only time of the year that I would avoid in Ireland."
