- Barone Ricasoli "Cantine del Castello di Brolio, 53013 Gaiole in Chianti (Siena) Telephone: +39 0577.730225 One of the oldest wineries the world, and also where Chianti wine was born. The Etruscans began producing wine in Tuscany but it was the Ricasoli family that created the special blend of grapes that has come to be known as Chianti Classico."
- Bartolai Winery "On the corner of Route 92 and Coolidge Ave., Harding, PA Telephone: 866.671.VINO or 570.388.VINO Four Generations of Fine Wines. In the beautiful hills of Northern Italy, just outside of Lucca in the village of Treppignana, the dream, love, and art of wine making began for the Bartolai family. Isodore Bartolai and his family made small batches of wine from carefully selected hand picked grapes from the family vineyard. Fermented and aged in oak barrels in a hillside cave, Bartolai wines were born. "Chief" brought his skills and technique to the Cork Lane section of Pittston Twp., passing on his craft on to our father Albert. Each fall wine was made at the family homestead using a hand made wine press. The wine was stored in a wine cellar dug out of solid rock. Albert then passed on the family traditions to his son Albert Jr., who made wine with our cousins in the same way our grandfather did. My brother Vince and I got involved soon after. A family dinner of "polenta on the board" marks the end of the years wine making season. Today the fourth generation of winemakers are involved in the process of making wine in the same way their fathers, grandfather, and great grandfather did. The tradition continues. Bartolai Family wines have won numerous medals and awards, both locally and nationally. We hope you enjoy our wines and olive oils. We are truly honored to share with you our passion of winemaking."

- Curious Wine Road of Provence "While the food and sunshine of Provence is well known among travelers to France, in years past the wines of Provence have been disparaged as the equivalent of "jug wine" mostly, known for Rose blends from wine associations, but the region has been growing in popularity with a resurgence of revitalized vineyards with young fresh wine makers and transplanted heartier vines. - Ecole du vin officielle des Vins de Bordeaux "To enter the magic kingdom of wine, you first need to learn something about it. Many people are both attracted and intimidated by its mystique. The Bordeaux Wine School was set up a few years ago, offering ambitious, yet unpretentious courses for everyone. In short, the keys to the kingdom! It is difficult to talk about as subjective an experience as wine tasting, where emotion is a key factor. The School does not try to set hard-and-fast rules, but rather to lay the groundwork so that people can find their own way around the vast universe of the world's wines, as well as identifying and expressing their own tastes and sensations."

The vineyard's prosperity peaked in the early 19th century when it probably covered more than 1000 ha (~2.500 acres). It has lived through severe hardships. But in 1941 the courage and determination of the local wine-growers, always fiercely loyal to their product, was rewarded when the wines of Bellet were granted AOC (Appelation d'Origine Contrôlée) status."

- Marchesato degli Aleramici "The Sienese district, to which Montalcino belongs is one of the oldest wine-growing areas in the world. The soils are formed of geological strata from the tertiary, eocene and pliocene eras characterised by calcareous and ferrous clay with moderate areas of sand and gravel. Consequently the terrain is in places lean, in other vigorous but brings forth excellent wines and olive soils. By nature these soils, aided by the very sunny and protected microclimate, produce grapes which yield powerful wines but which are nevertheless delicate in flavour, aroma, perfume and appeal. The grape variety is exclusively "Sangiovese" with which BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO and ROSSO DI MONTALCINO, are produced. Very long ago, even before these illustrious wine were produced, the "IL GALAMPIO" farm made a very special red wine from the same vine as the present day Brunello, renowned and appreciated throughout Tuscany and beyond for its full, refined, harmonious flavour and rich, intense perfume. More recently, when MARCHESATO DEGLI ALERAMICI replanted their vineyards, to produce Brunello, they decided to leave a part of the old vineyard in order to keep in production the glorious "GALAMPIO ROSSO". The wine, known by its name since its birth, is still produced in small quantities and matured in oak casks for at least two years."

We believe that winemaking begins in the vineyard. We take what nature has given us and turn it into the best possible product we can make. Winemaker Kevin Durland takes a minimalist approach to winemaking, letting the grapes and fermentation process take the wine where it wants to go. A cornerstone belief of ours is that winemaking is not a recipe but rather a series of decisions that involve analysis of the juice, must, and wine at every stage of its development. Our wines include a variety aimed at pleasing the different tastes of our customers. We make an array of both white and red wines, at all sweetness levels from dry to sweet. The grapes for our wines are sourced from different areas of Pennsylvania including Mehoopany, Tunkhannock, Dushore, and West Chester. We also source some grapes from the North Fork of Long Island."
