Podere San Lorenzo near Volterra, Italy

Monday Morning at the agriturismo Podere San Lorenzo

On Monday morning, I got up and wandered around taking some photos. Here are a few photos of the grounds of the Podere San Lorenzo.

The little three-wheeled truck in the photo above on the left is called an "ape." (Pronounced AH-pay) You can see them all over Italy. The Italian word "ape" means "bee."

These two photos are looking from where the welcome sign is, toward the building.

Then it was time for breakfast. The breakfast was included in the price of the room.

This is where we had breakfast, and where we took the cooking classes.

In these photos below, look closely at the sides of the windows. You can see what is left of frescos that were painted there.

I took these photos below of the interesting looking lock that was on the doors of the chapel.

This is a cupboard that was near the door that leads to the kitchen. On the table to the left you can see a tart that was part of the breakfast Monday morning. Much of what was on the breakfast buffet was store-bought, like the tart. They made capucino if you wanted it, and in addition to the buffet style breakfast, we were offered eggs, which were scrambled very nicely.
