There are several viewing areas along the road that goes through the park.
At this end of the road, near I-40, is the Painted Desert headquarters.
Tiponi Point
Tawa Point
The US Government Painted Desert Headquarters
Chinde Point
Pintado Point
Puerco Pueblo
This shows a representation of what the site may have looked like when it was occupied
Many of the viewing areas have trails that you can walk through with the railings like the ones shown here
Some of the foundations of the buildings have been recreated
That is the building with the rest rooms that you can see beyond the ruins
This is one of the kivas (used for religious purposes) at the site
This is just one of the areas in the park with ancient petroglyphs
A close-up of some of the petroglyphs
More petroglyphs
I was surprised at the quality of the rest rooms here
Newspaper Rock
Newspaper Rock
The Teepees
Blue Mesa
I saw this couple, the Crows, at several of the sites
Here they are reading the plaque for the Blue Mesa viewing area
Looks like the Crows got a little messy here
There is a walking trail at this site
I did not walk this particular trail
